Listen | Hypnotic Echo Chamber, FANTôME on Happy Hour

The name FANTôME defines both a work by Terry Riley and the musical formation of the quartet.

Two pairs of blowers and keyboards, opposed to each other. Two dissonant mirrors whose harmonies answer each other, recorded and repeated ad infinitum.

In this new Happy Hour, the Périscope welcomes this year’s Jazz Migration prize-winning quartet, FANTôME.
Meet Alexandre du Closel and Jean Brice Godet who will talk about their relationship with repetitive music and the psychedelic effects it has on the listener. Improvised hypnosis and an appetite for asymmetrical replication are at the heart of the creative process of the group, which performed on 10 June at Le Périscope.
