Must See | Yallah ! High school students try their hand at video and composition with Lucas Hercberg.
Lucas Hercberg and the musicians of the group Rien Faire have composed a shared creation with the 14 students of the UP2A (Unité Pédagogiques des Elèves Allophones Arrivants) of the Lycée Récamier during the school year 2020-2021.
Thanks to the availability of various instruments, the students were able to try their hand at different practices, from the most rhythmic to the most melodic. But they also tried their hand at the collective writing of a text that blends the multitude of languages they speak (up to 6 or 7 languages for some young people as young as 16).
The project was finally able to see the light of day in the spring of 2021 (postponed from the spring of 2020) while our hall was still closed to the public. This was made possible thanks to the availability of a room within the MJC Presqu’île Confluence which hosted the 4 workshops of musical creation.
François Bardier then accompanied the students on the creation of the video-clip accompanying the creation. With the help of various graphic proposals, the visual artist made the young people discover the technique of stop-motion (short film realized thanks to a camera which photographs frame by frame which put end to end at an accelerated speed create a video.
These dozens of encounters gave birth to the creation Yallah which could be concluded in small committee in the big room of the periscope on June 10th, 2021.
