Barrut
Occitan Polyphonies
Seven voices from the northern shores of the Mediterranean, blending polyphonic singing with powerful percussive rhythms: BARRUT draws its passion and defiance from music that soars above the madness of the world, bridging Occitan traditions and contemporary music. The septet is here to present its new repertoire, CONTRA-FUÒCS, fuelled by rock, neo-classical and cinematic influences, oscillating between moments of suspended tension and raw intensity.
Le Diable Dégoûtant
With her songs that would make even vermin dance, Pauline Marx draws on chthonic rhythms and fermented sounds to create music full of collages and clashes. Borrowed from traditional music, updated on the sampler; goat-skin drums sequenced without quantisation; ancient antiphons serving as pop songs hidden beneath the granite of the Breton moors; choruses gleaned and hummed for you and us for ages (by candlelight!); lo-fi sound straight from the depths of the potion cauldron: the Disgusting Devil knows how to summon the unconquered power of catchy tunes and spellbinding words… we’ll end up going all out pagan again!
