VIOLETAZUL is the voice and guitar of Elisa Arciniegas, a Colombian musician, improviser and producer. Blending tango, Caribbean influences and poetry, she explores the traditional and contemporary repertoires of Latin America, weaving together subtle melodies, complex harmonies and penetrating rhythms that resonate in the heart, mind and body.
Her latest album, ‘Canciones tenues… chansons subtiles’, sets to music the works of Latin American women poets, celebrating a femininity that is both assertive and subtle, including: Alejandra Pizarnik, Dulce María Loynaz, María Mercedes Carranza, Ruiz and Canfield.
