Shovel Dance Collective
Reviving the folk tradition to celebrate collective enthusiasm.
United by a passion for traditional British folk music, which gives voice to the oppressed, the nine musicians of Shovel Dance sing of solidarity across time. Their symphony of banjos, harps, flutes, trombones and violins exudes a soothing energy and provides great shared thrills. Exploring the relationships between folk music, queer culture, feminist struggle and working-class history, the concert combines unique beauty, strength and political charge.
