Js Donny + Jonquera + Ghetto Bird & Erevan DJ

Bamboo Shows is back at Le Périscope, this time to celebrate in style the release of Death Folk, the new album by Js Donny on the label. It’s the perfect occasion to unveil the live version of this intimate and minimalist project, at the crossroads of folk, post-rock, and doom. Performing these emotive, trippy ballads: an electro-acoustic guitar and drums duo (Js and Sila), but above all, Js’s unique voice — somewhere between spectral whispers and soft, twilight screams.

We’re also taking the opportunity to invite a familiar face to the Bamboo family: Jonquera, who released two stunning albums with us in 2020 and 2023. Just like on his recent split with Tolouse Low Trax on Acid Test, the Lyon-based artist brings along his FX-laced drum kit and lap steel guitar for some dark, improvised sessions blending cowboy-jazz and industrial dub.

Opening the night: Ghetto Bird and yours truly, Erevan DJ, will be trading off behind the decks. In the spirit of their respective LYL Radio shows Catalyst and Herbe à Chat, expect a wild blend of post-rock, post-punk, prog rock, psychedelic folk, and shoegaze — basically, they love guitars, and they plan to go heavy on them in their selections.
