Victoria Alexanyan Quintet

France

Victoria Alexanyan, a vocalist with diverse influences who has spent her life between Armenia and France, has brought together several musicians from different backgrounds to present a unique brand of jazz that bridges East and West.

Her deeply personal compositions come to life through a true collaborative effort. In her first album as a quintet, she not only evokes Armenia’s turbulent history but also transforms anger into poetry and affirms a sensitive, freedom-loving relationship with the world.

Improvisations and modal hues intertwine, weaving a sonic universe where melody—always central—blooms between structure and freedom. Driven by great sensitivity, this music blends complex rhythms inspired by traditional music with the natural, fluid momentum of jazz, giving rise to an indomitable sonic universe.
