Soledad Zarka & Loup Uberto
The duo Soledad Zarka and Loup Uberto experiment with gestures and songs associated with daily labor, using masks, modified instruments, and sound objects. Their research and creations are ongoing and focus on spontaneous composition and encounters with residents, artists, thinkers, everyday objects, and more. This creation has been regularly nourished by the duo’s frequent trips to Italy and Portugal over the past few years, where they have found strong sources of influence. In order to maintain a link with a repertoire of Italian work songs indexed to the gestures of labor, the aim is to identify gestures that in turn support the singing body. A physiological study of singing and an acoustic study of gesture.
Loup Uberto is a sound artist, vocalist, and luthier, supported by the European platform Shape, Murailles Music, the collective Le Saule, and the Vaud label Three:four records. He founded the group Bégayer and has produced numerous sound, photographic, and literary cartographies.
Soledad Zarka is a dancer, choreographer, musician, visual artist, and director of the Compagnie Marie est de la Nuit and La Remise in Estagel (66), a venue, creative laboratory, and social space.
