Julie Normal + Seraphine de Tremblay
Diversions · Escapades estivales
Julie Normal
Julie Normal is one of the few performers of the ondes Martenot, an electronic instrument that has been part of the orchestra since the 1930s. The ethereal sound of this keyboard, evoking both the underwater world and the human voice, conjures up all kinds of mental images when listened to. A graduate of the Strasbourg Conservatory, Julie performs solo and in small ensembles, her favourite field being film music and sound baths.
Seraphine de Tremblay
After a thorough search of the region’s records, it appears that there is no Seraphine de Tremblay listed. In Canada, a certain Seraphine Tremblay is registered under the ID number 1701743. Born in 1821 and died in 1888 at the age of 67, she married a certain Dominique, also a Tremblay, at the age of 28, which greatly facilitated the embroidery of the initials on the trousseau.
One hundred and thirty-five years later, an artist of the same name composed this album during a waking dream in the Dioises Alps. For an indefinite period of time, he locked away the sun and the storm, captured the slopes and wild springs, and distilled his findings into a sound journey.
