Gloria, Lyon’s psychedelic rock ‘girl group’, have been revisiting echoes of the past for several years, blending modernity with retro references. Driven by the bewitching voices of Wendy Martinez, Amy Winterbotham and Marie-Louise Bourgeois, and flanked by guitarist-producer Kid Victrola, the band transcends genres.
Their sonic universe, somewhere between raw garage, celestial pop and even mystical folk, summons up the spirits of 60s rock while letting the soul of Motown and the cheekiness of casual 90s indie rock resonate. A famous witches’ brew, a cauldron of fuzz and vocal harmonies, the band’s trademark.
In 2025, Gloria returned with a third album (Howlin’Banana/Wita Records) inspired by ancient mythology, where muses and divinities invited themselves into their world. More rock and disenchanted, this opus pays tribute to the thematic records of the 60s while exploring new horizons. Release party for album III on Thursday 12 June at Le Périscope!

Somewhere between folk, experimental song and avant-garde poetry, Sophia Djebel Rose distils a luminous, dark and trembling poetry. The arpeggios of a guitar mingle with the bareness of a voice that sings of black forests and clear waters, the seasons, death, revolt and love. While it might be tempting to describe her work as folk, Sophia Djebel Rose’s music follows in the footsteps of free-spirited, avant-garde women who have never stopped breaking down boundaries between styles.
