A classical percussionist, Lê Quan Ninh’s career has been divided between contemporary music and free improvisation since the 1980s. Founder of the Quatuor Hêlios and the ensemble]h[iatus with cellist Martine Altenburger, he is also a volunteer artistic advisor for the Association Ryoanji and the festival Le Bruit de la Musique. An improviser alongside renowned artists, he currently plays in the Krči+N trio alongside Emilie Škrijelj and Loris Binot. His special relationship with dance and his involvement in various collectives testify to his rich artistic contribution. Author of “Improviser librement – Abécédaire d’une expérience”, his influence endures in the world of contemporary musical creation.
