What they define as their “deviant pop” is attached to the intimate through a writing based on emotion and introspection. In a raw spleen the ideas rage to finally disappear in the hollow of this meditative reverberation which defines so well their sound. This fall saw the release of their second opus, Hikikomori, which means “in retreat” in Japanese. The direction taken will therefore be that of withdrawal. This new EP speaks to us of confinement and solitude, also of the imagination that can result from it. Aerial melancholy, drawing its influences as much from lo-fi hip-hop as from the shoegaze of the 90s.
