Franges
© Lise LefebvreFranges is an ensemble in which the dreamlike quality of the sounds plays a decisive role. The breath of the flute and saxophone is its driving force. Although its structure is built upon repetitive music, the quintet is by no means static. Franges ventures into undefined realms, guided by the flow of ideas. The key is to present a united front within a highly orchestral framework, one that is vibrantly alive and ever-shifting.
Franges is a richly colourful jazz quintet in which the fiery timbre of a trumpet opens up meandering paths. The result is a dazzling combination set against fleeting synthetic pulses, firmly anchored in rhythmic depths. The quintet is a stationary journey that captivates you with your eyes closed and conjures up your most intimate images.
