Arlt

Eloïse Decazes and Sing Sing met in 2006; they founded Arlt and immediately began performing all over the place—in France, then across Europe, and later in the U.S. and Japan. They released albums (La langue, Feu la figure, Arlt & Thomas Bonvalet, Deableries, Patate de vivre, Soleil enculé, Turnetable) and took over art centers (the Les Hauts de Turnepenche exhibition at Creux de l’Enfer in Thiers) Arlt is 20 years old, and for 20 years, the duo has been experimenting in its curious little patchwork territory, built from primitive and convoluted songs, mysterious sound manipulations, minimal and chaotic theater, and lyrical outbursts that resemble toothaches. Arlt is 20 years old, and to celebrate this strange new milestone, they’re putting on a slew of concert-performances. Come see Arlt reinvent their repertoire, summon a chaotic host of ghosts, and craft new songs, new burlesque stunts, and new dramas of all kinds right before your eyes. Arlt is 20 years old, and it’s quite a circus.
