Release party for Lyon-based indie rock band Luje!
In this second, more liberated album, to be released by Howlin’ Banana and Confiture Distribution, Luje slowly breaks away from the electro-pop melodies that populated their previous efforts to explore more rugged and saturated terrain, consolidating their shoegaze foundations.
Here, everything collides and responds to each other: impetuous percussion, retro-futuristic layers of synthesizers, ethereal vocal lines, and guitars that are sometimes sharp, sometimes enveloping. A refuge of an album that is both reassuring and decadent—the perfect alternative for cutting yourself off from the world and letting your emotions do the rest.
Montañita
Melodies that float like in a waking dream, charmingly old-fashioned effects enveloping a melody as if weightless. Guitars holding their breath, carrying melancholy, all carried by three voices that become one, taking malicious pleasure in spreading their spleen as an ideal. Indie pop that is impossible to resist.
That sums up the music of Montañita, a band from Clermont-Ferrand, some of whose members are familiar to us (Sink Deeper, Niandra Lades, Dragon Rapide, etc.), and which will delight fans of Slowdive, Beach House, and Sparklehorse.
