Lila Ehjä + FONCEDALLE + Round table discussion and launch of the Futur Parlé fanzine
Futur Parlé & Le Périscope present an evening of roundtable discussions and concerts: ‘What is indie?’:
Roundtable discussion
This roundtable discussion, moderated by Rémi Laffitte, aims to continue the ‘IRL’ discussion that began in the first issue of the fanzine: What is indie?
Choice or necessity? What forms of autonomy are still possible today? The idea: to share experiences, compare visions, and open up a space for discussion around indie music — its realities, its contradictions.
With: Lila Ejhä (musician, Paris), Foncedalle (musicians, Lyon), Loïs Markarian (DJ and founder of the Bamboo Shows label), and other participants to be announced soon.
FONCEDALLE
FONCEDALLE is a high-volume amplified trio, a hot wave of acid guitars, boosted by addictive bass lines and fuelled by electronic beats. Their eponymous debut album will be released in March 2024 on Exag’ Records (BE). It is rawer, with the tracks having been worked and reworked live. While it still features machine-fed rock, electronic trance and melodic flights of fancy, there are also oppressive passages, uncontrolled noise and ambient, hazy passages.
Lila Ehjä
Armed with her guitar, her Roland and her looper, Lila creates an atmosphere that is sometimes blue and mysterious, sometimes red, electric and concrete. Her themes: the greyness of boulevards, the poetry of rain and night. Her music, which she describes as ‘cold wave’, draws its inspiration from post-punk/cold wave, shoegaze and industrial music. Her first album, CLIVOTA, was released on 12 January 2024 on the Croux Records label.
