FŒHN + Manon Mullener Trio

FŒHN – 10 p.m.

After three studio albums released early on André Manoukian’s MadChaman label, Fœhn Trio transformed into FŒHN, to better assert its place in contemporary amplified music. On stage, this translates into abandoning the acoustic piano to focus on the sound of keyboards, and as a bonus… vocals!

A recognised player in ultra-contemporary jazz, blending acoustic and electronic sounds, FŒHN exudes power and a broad sound spectrum in an energetic repertoire tailored for the stage. Beyond a unique mix of electro, pop, rock and UK jazz, the trio leaves room for improvisation, allowing themselves to take off on spellbinding and virtuoso flights of fancy, without forgetting the poetic and melodic side that has shaped their style.

For their return to the studio at the end of 2025, FŒHN invited the young Franco-Ethiopian singer Fleur Worku (Keystone Big Band, Alfio Origlio ‘human flow’) to bring her deep voice to this emotionally rich and evocative music.

At the Récif festival, FŒHN will celebrate the release party for SOLEIL DE MINUIT, his new opus, on the Périscope stage.

MANON MULLENER TRIO – 9p.m.

Manon Mullener is one of the promising young talents of European jazz. She weaves her notes between jazz, Cuban music, where she studied, and melodies from her native Switzerland. Her compositions are travel diaries, blending echoes from scenes around the world, from New York to Havana, via European festivals.

With her new album Stories, recorded in New York, the young Swiss pianist Manon Mullener takes us on a musical journey inspired by the moving stories of people she has met around the world. Each track on this modern jazz album with Cuban influences tells a unique life story, such as that of Zoila, a 95-year-old Cuban grandmother who recalls the perfume shop she ran with her husband in Havana in the 1950s, or that of Noh, a Mexican taxi driver attached to Mayan values, and that of Willard, an opera lover from the upmarket neighbourhoods of New York.

First part of the evening to come.
