BITTER BLAZE

BITTER BLAZE, a modern jazz quartet with sounds that are sometimes raw, sometimes delicate, invites you into its intoxicating world. Featuring a repertoire of original compositions, BITTER BLAZE is a vibrant and emotional sound experience. Come suspend your disbelief and let yourself be carried away, take part in a unique concert experience. And if sweetness can hide bitterness, it is possible to find tenderness in the arms of the bitter blaze.

Eager for consonance, alliteration and wordplay, this young jazz group tends to treat this music as a dialogue with liveliness and poetry. Their taste for jazz and repartee blend into an open and lively, graceful and twirling playing space. This quartet from Lyon is carried by eloquent improvisers who seize the solo to express their love of harmony and interplay, an ode to musical spontaneity.

CATTA

With CATTA, Lyon-based saxophonist Lisa Bertrand brings together five musicians she met at the conservatory around her original compositions and arrangements.

Led by the rhythm section formed by Noël Rhodde on piano, Antoine Fontanel on double bass and Julien Ducruet, the sextet explores a sound universe where the timbres of Hélène Cambourian’s bass clarinet, Tom Martel’s trumpet, saxophone and flute intermingle.

Inspired by the jazz of Dave Holland, Kenny Wheeler and Carla Bley, CATTA’s music is dreamlike, joyful, introspective and explosive – in short, CATTArtique.
