AMG + Leo Geller 4tet + La Grande Jam
One evening, two concerts, one jam session with:
LA GRANDE JAM – Open to all musicians! – 10 p.m.
According to the ghosts that haunt our walls, the last impromptu jam session at Le Périscope took place over a decade ago. This is rather surprising for a place of artistic exchange like ours, where dozens of musicians gather every week in our studios and on our stages.
As is often the case, if you don’t make it happen, it never will. So what better way to revive this dormant tradition than with the festival’s closing night, featuring a wave of musicians from here and elsewhere?
We are offering a closing night with a unique format: it will open with two concerts at 7pm and 9pm, and will end with La Grande Jam, which we believe is the best way to celebrate and bring this fourth edition to a close together.
AMG – 9 p.m.
A young Parisian band on the rise, AMG is establishing itself as one of the revelations of contemporary jazz. Heirs to Coltrane, McCoy Tyner and Pharoah Sanders, Antoine Fleury (piano), Keïta Janota (saxophones), Anthony Jouravsky (double bass) and Mailo Rakotonanahary (drums) combine virtuosity and intensity to offer music that is sophisticated enough to win over jazz aficionados, yet free and inventive enough to appeal beyond the circle of insiders.
After AMG Extended and Gate 01 – Live at Sunside, both critically acclaimed, and their victory at the 2025 La Défense National Jazz Competition, AMG confirms its status as a must-see band. For France Inter, their acronym sums up ‘the future of jazz in three letters’.
LEO GELLER 4TET – 7 p.m.
Leo Geller 4tet is one of the most active projects on the current Lyon scene! Four musicians from the new generation, each with their own distinct musical personalities, take you on a journey through their universe to the four corners of a fusion jazz style. With psychedelic guitar, swaying rhythms and vibrant saxophone riffs, Leo Geller’s band brings together a melting pot of influences: John Coltrane, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Fela Kuti and even Radiohead. Every note is played with heart and soul. The project won JazzContreBand 2023 (chaired by Emile Parisien & Nik Bärtsch) and the Audience Award at the Jazz à Oloron Festival 2023.
The group has already performed at the Jazz à Vienne Festival, EMA in Geneva, Cosmo Jazz Festival, Rhino Jazz Festival, Sunset Paris, Coco Jazz Festival, Hot Club De Lyon, Crescent Jazz Festival and many others.
