Alpha Cassiopeiae

Alpha Cassiopeiae is the brightest star in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is also a keyboard-and-drums instrumental duo with a bold fusion of styles: the fluidity of contemporary jazz, the hypnotic quality of repetitive music, and the evocative power of electronic music. Following the release of their first two EPs, which were featured on FIP and Radio Nova, the duo has opened for prestigious artists such as Tigran Hamasyan (at the Trianon) and GoGo Penguin (across France), and is now setting its sights on the international stage with their first dates in Germany scheduled for 2026.

Born from the collaboration between Nicolas (on keyboards and organ pedals) and Maxime (a drummer with raw energy, known for his work with Johnnie Carwash), the project is defined by a rare standard: instrumental music played entirely live, without safety nets, prioritizing human interaction.

Their debut album, *Shadows*, is a series of cinematic sequences. Without explicit narration, the compositions trace inner trajectories, oscillating between phases of preparation and moments of contemplative suspension. The duo’s visual and sonic universe is deeply rooted in the aerospace imagination of the 1970s. On stage, dressed in outfits inspired by the film First Man, they showcase a retro-futuristic aesthetic.
