Mandorle

Under the name Mandorle, Julien Lesuisse, founder and singer of the band Crimi, performs solo. Here, he continues his adventures between Sicilian roots, Maghreb sounds and edgy lyricism, between fantasies and ghosts.
Mandorle is a solo performance in which we are invited to immerse ourselves, following the voice of Julien Lesuisse, the lively and electrifying soul of the band Crimi. Algerian mandolin, saturated alto saxophone and irregular noise sequencers, raw grooves and intense stories: all the raw beauty of his inner world is condensed and reinvented at the same time, drawing on the multitude of fantasies and ghosts carried by the Sicilian dialect. A world of sound between the light of Monteverdi’s Orfeo, the bitter intensity of the great Sicilian singer Rosa Balistreri, and the adventures of Robert Wyatt and Cheikha Rimitti. A world that also knows how to draw on deep and tangled stories, without ever forgetting to groove.
