FAZAZ

The FAZAZ trio was born from the meeting between Guillaume Storchi and Léo Fabre-Cartier. Guillaume trained during numerous stays in North Africa, while Léo has been navigating musically between Morocco and France since 2012. A student of lotar master Younes Baammi—himself a disciple of the great Mohammed Rouicha, an iconic figure in Moroccan music and creator of modern lotar in the 1970s. Their project was naturally enriched by their collaboration with singer Luna Dounia Moumen.

By presenting original arrangements of compositions by Younes Baammi and Mohammed Rouicha on stage, FAZAZ offers an immersion into the heart of Amazigh song from the Middle Atlas, a little-known and utterly intoxicating form of music.
