Borguefül

After spending several years working in documentary filmmaking, Mélanie Loisel now devotes herself to music. A double bassist with a primarily classical background, free improvisation has led her to explore new creative paths. Together with Fabien Delisle, a multidisciplinary artist, she co-created the piece *Crâne Cru*. Then, in 2018, she developed *AU SEUIL*, a ritual concert centered on traditional funeral music, in collaboration with soprano Mathilde Barthélémy.
Mélanie Loisel also creates music for theater and dance companies. As a performer, she joined the contemporary music duo GRANDE in 2022, contributing to an expanded formation. She occasionally collaborates with Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy’s Tachycardie ensemble and is currently working on other musical projects, always navigating the border between improvisation and written compositions.
In 2021, Mélanie Loisel began composing *Borguefül*, her first solo project for double bass and voice, shaped by a wide range of research and inspirations. The album *Horst* was released in October 2022 on the Pagans Records and La République des Granges labels
