AMG

Paris, France

A young Parisian band on the rise, AMG is establishing itself as one of the most promising groups in contemporary jazz. Their name refers to the Autophysiopsychic Music theory dear to Yusef Lateef, a figure in spiritual jazz whose legacy they claim.

Heirs to Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Pharoah Sanders, and Abdullah Ibrahim, Antoine Fleury (piano), Keïta Janota (saxophones), Anthony Jouravsky (double bass), and Mailo Rakotonanahary (drums) combine virtuosity and intensity to offer incandescent music with assertive energy: skilled enough to win over jazz aficionados, and free and inventive enough to reach beyond the circle of insiders.

After AMG Extended and Gate 01 – Live at Sunside, both critically acclaimed, as well as their victory at the 2025 La Défense National Jazz Competition, AMG has established itself as an essential revelation in contemporary jazz. For France Inter, the group’s acronym represents “the future of jazz in three letters.”
