Priscilla + Tachycardie

In partnership with LUFF

An evening organised in collaboration with LUFF in Lausanne, a pioneering festival that has been presenting cutting-edge and fringe artistic programming spanning underground film and music for nearly 25 years.

Priscilla

Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Priscilla are a four-piece skramz band drawing inspiration from seminal acts such as Neil Perry, Pageninetynine and Orchid. Blending noise, emo, hardcore and powerviolence, they have emerged as an enigmatic force within the latest wave of the emo revival in the United States.

Delivering an overwhelming combination of wall-of-sound intensity contrasted with tender moments of contemplative anguish, the band features Emme Worthy on vocals — whose solo project has made waves in European experimental electronic music circles — Henry Schechter on guitar, Mallach Fishman on drums and Myra Tibray on bass. The latter three also perform together in Winner, a mathcore/emoviolence band also based in Portland.

Tachycardie

After numerous collaborative experiences as a drummer and percussionist on the fringes of free rock and improvisation — with Pneu, Institutrice, Futuroscope, Binidu and La Colonie de Vacances — Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy created Tachycardie, a project through which he explores a vibrational art that is both complex and raw, where rhythms and drones emerge from materials and objects.

Geoffroy takes us on a journey through acousmatic music, minimalism, field recordings and imaginary traditional music, following a particularly elusive path that makes Tachycardie one of the most exciting living anomalies in experimental music.
