Tachycardie

Following numerous collaborative ventures as a drummer and percussionist on the fringes of free rock and improvisation – in Pneu, Institutrice, Futuroscope, Binidu and La Colonie de Vacances – Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy conceived Tachycardie, a project in which he pioneers a paradoxically complex yet raw form of vibrational art, where rhythms and drones emerge from matter and objects.
Geoffroy takes us on a journey through acousmatic music, minimalism, field recordings and pseudo-traditional music, following a path that is utterly elusive. Whilst his approach to sound rivals the purest forms, Geoffroy also maintains a resolutely physical relationship with sound. Despite somewhat futile attempts to categorise it, Tachycardie remains, somewhere in Touraine, one of the most exciting living anomalies in experimental music.
