Zone Bleue

Zone Bleue is the new alias of Amédée De Murcia, known for the dark and dissonant sounds of his alter ego Somaticae, or for his collaborations in the duos Balladur (with Romain de Ferron) and OD Bongo (with C_C).

In this minimalist solo project, he summons a synthetic orchestra in the throes of intense emotional turmoil: a musical interpretation of a blue sky on a computer screen, an AI attempting—and failing—to imitate the compositions of the New York School, or even an unlikely children’s bedroom atmosphere, born of the touching clumsiness of machines seeking to reproduce the warmth of trumpets, accordions, or the human voice.

Somewhere between the soundtrack of forgotten software on an old hard drive, the repetitive music of Steve Reich, and the daydreams of Raymond Scott, Zone Bleue surfs waves of lapis lazuli and ultramarine in an unidentified twilight zone.
