Le Grand Couturier

Le Grand Couturier is an experimental music group inspired mainly by Hawaiian and Polynesian music, creating forms that juxtapose the idioms of these musical traditions (20th-century Hawaiian songs, Polynesian prayers, Tiki pop) with synthetic and electric elements. By creating contrasts, Le Grand Couturier’s music evokes the gap between the carefree nature attributed to these musical styles in the American dream and the violence of the contemporary world.
