Azurite Sun

Azurite Sun, a project by guitarist-singer-organist-etc Léa Thirion (allball, t-shirt), had blossomed, for the few who had checked out her Bandcamp, as a fairly minimal ambient project, where contemplation gives way to emptiness, or even, why not, a certain prostration… Those who were even more curious and had the excellent idea of following the band (because that’s what it is) on stage have been discovering songs for the past year or two, poems by Emily Dickinson turned into spectral folk songs, nocturnal and sometimes quite disturbing arrangements, and, to tell the truth, a very personal sense of melody and harmony. (…) Azurite Sun evokes landscapes, suspended moments, chiaroscuro where perception is refined. The simplicity of the device, frontal, is reminiscent of folk music but without its codes, writing style, or really its instrumentation. “
