The Bridge #2.13
The Bridge project is back on the road, with a new unexpected encounter #2.13 between musicians who are active on the art scenes in France and Chicago respectively. They have come together temporarily for a tour of purely improvised concerts.
It’s crazy. And it makes perfect sense. While they are still in the unknown, the five artists know that they will soon be a new ensemble, a new assembly, Across The Bridge.
Frenchman Paul Wacrenier: ‘I wanted a “classic” jazz formation, to get straight to the point, to allow the instruments to play their traditional roles.’ And the North Americans, for their part, add in unison: ‘One of the great joys of improvised music lies in the new relationships that are forged through sound and that transform into lasting human bonds.’ So what is the unknown? Their ‘horizon of expectation’, ours, yours?
