Oasis Boom

The duo invents a desert rock that calls for dancing, is well versed in techno, and loves broad, hypnotic melodies that sound familiar to our ears. The sound of OASIS BOOM is very loosely inspired by Maloya and Mandinka music. The synthesiser is struck with drumsticks and metro tickets get stuck in the guitar strings as if there were sand everywhere. The powerful turns seem to come from afar, others make you smile and remind you of video game music, melodies unfold, rock you and envelop you, sometimes with jokes and electronic music lurking in the background.
These two musicians, who are very active on the Lyon and Paris scenes, met in Mélissa Acchiardi plays the vibraphone and drums, loves to compose, improvise, tinker, practise, break everything or apply herself. Trained in classical percussion, she plays in The Very Big Experimental Toubifri Orchestra, ARFI, Saint Sadrill, and with several theatre companies. Vincent Duchosal’s guitar has wandered through Maloya, contemporary jazz, noise and experimental music. He has nimble fingers and likes sounds when they are not too clean. He plays in Trio Meije, Phonem, ZOZIO and with the company La Grande Magouille.
The group, a new Jazz Migration winner, is releasing its first album, ‘Cactus Bus,’ on 19/09/2025 on Dur & Doux.
