Sauges

Paris, France

Sauges explores a dialogue between tradition and modernity, harmony and chaos. The cymbalum and Perséphone, two instruments that might at first seem worlds apart, intersect and gaze at one another in an ever-expanding dance. Resonance and roughness, noise and harmony, phase shifts and accumulation: these are the tensions that shape their sonic language, woven from sparkles and ruptures. The cymbalum brings a granular physicality, precise strikes, and stretching halos, while Persephone, an analog tape synthesizer, injects shifting layers, subtle beats, and micro-variations in timbre. Nothing is fixed: motifs appear, crack, and intermingle. The result oscillates between texture and pulse, noise and clarity. On stage, this interaction becomes a dense field of listening, where the music is crafted right before the audience’s ears. Sauges thus creates porous spaces, where listening becomes active, almost tactile—a tense, precise transmission of vibration.

Their second album, Pizza Soleil, is set to be released on Wabi Sabi Records in 2026.
