Since forming the band over ten years ago in their hometown of Newcastle, the members of Demob Happy have climbed every step of their exciting career through a combination of hard work determination that would knock out most bands. They have played gigs relentlessly relentlessly, building on the enthusiasm generated by their 2015 debut Dream Soda, for which which NME declared that “the band balance heaviness and hooks, antagonism and hedonism”, and by Holy Doom, released in 2018, which DIY called “an absolute thunderstorm”. Their albums and a series of hit singles since 2019 have helped the band accumulate over 45 million streams.
Demob Happy have toured the U.S. four times, played with Jack White, Band Of Skulls, Royal Blood, The Amazons (White even invited the band on stage to jam), opened the main stage at Reading & Leeds Festival, headlined London’s iconic SCALA and won critical acclaim critical acclaim in The Guardian, Independent, DIY, Kerrang, The Line of Best Fit, Dork, BBC Radio 1 and many others. Meanwhile, the three members have continued to meticulously meticulously, Matthew honing his production skills to the point where he can now do everything now able to do everything in-house.
