David August

Founder of the 99chants label, David August is an Italian-German composer, pianist, DJ and sound engineer. Born in Hamburg, he trained in classical piano before developing a unique approach blending electronic music, experimental composition and multidisciplinary art. His musical projects explore movement, metaphysics and contemporary forms of electronic music, oscillating between neo-classical, ambient, dancefloor, dubstep, breakbeat, bass music and post-rock influences. With hymns (2026), he returns to the piano with an intimate work that explores memory, heritage and reconciliation. August continues to explore the intersections between sound, imagination and the human experience.
