Otomo Yoshihide’s New Jazz Quintet (ONJQ) is a Japanese free jazz and experimental music ensemble led by composer, sound producer, turntablist and guitarist Otomo Yoshihide. As an iconoclast, Otomo has tackled the jazz repertoire, always with unparalleled respect, exceptional virtuosity and craftsmanship.

With over 100 releases to his name, including eight critically acclaimed ONJQ albums, and more than two decades of performing on the world’s most daring stages, Otomo continues to explore the captivating balance between melodic form and the intense spontaneity of improvisation.
