Contemporary jazz, acoustic and versatile, with influences like Carla Bley and Henri Texier.
We dive in.
Everything around us is in motion, melodies like supple seaweed.
Then the depth of the bass. It creeps along, scraping the ground.
Inhale. Exhale. Expel. Propel.
With a bass saxophone and bass clarinet stretching out like long tentacles, Nötile is a strange creature with a smooth trombone neck and trumpet valves like suction cups. A metal shell holding its breath in a Vernean ocean.
A musical landscape then unfolds, at times exploratory, at times contemplative, fragments of a very ancient time that does not yet exist. The composition is finely crafted, incisive, and opens space for improvisation.
A crash of powerful bubbles or fine, vibrating foam, Nötile breathes a sound that is both plant-like and animal-like.
A little pearl in its case.
