Ti’kaniki Kabar Maloya + Juan Carlos Arrechea & Israël Quiñones

Maloya group Ti’kaniki have been celebrating Maloya in Lyon for nearly a decade, organising monthly kabars (Maloya balls) in the city to share the traditional music of Reunion Island.

For this new Kabar at Le Périscope, there will be a special guest: marimba master Juan Carlos Arrachea, who plays Currulao, another Afrodescendant music from the Pacific coast, and percussionist Israel Quiñones.

These musics, though distant, have a lot in common, and the musicians will be offering you a moment of communion as they come together.
