Katya Shirshkova

A vocalist, composer and sound artist, Katya Shirshkova’s practice lies at the intersection of experimental music and performance. She explores the expressive boundaries between language, silence, nonsense and the non-verbal, creating immersive situations that invite the audience to pay particular attention to the subtle and often overlooked dimensions of listening.

Katya regularly collaborates with Louis Laurain, Yurii Kuznetsov and Monopoly of Bells, amongst others. Her work has been presented at various venues, festivals and institutions across Europe, notably at Instants Chavirés (Paris), the KRAAK Festival (Antwerp), Pillar (Brussels), the Super Flux Festival (Tours) and the Appleton Festival (Lisbon).
