Tepih

Tepih brings together four experienced musicians around an original instrumentation: hurdy-gurdy, electronics, double bass and accordion. Together, they develop a unique electroacoustic approach, at the crossroads of sound experimentation, evocative landscapes and imaginary folklore. Their music draws on rich timbres, unexpected sound materials, open structures and subtle interactions, where collective listening guides the evolution of the pieces.
The project was born out of a collaboration between the Swiss association Bruit and the Slovenian association Zavod Sploh, two organisations that have been committed to supporting experimental music and free improvisation for many years. With Šablona, their first album recorded in May 2024 (scheduled for release in September 2025), Tepih offers a sound universe made up of layers: repurposed objects, unstable pulsations, fragmented melodies and shimmering electronic textures coexist and respond to each other without seeking unison, creating an organic and moving musical form.
